Gastón has chaired the Working Group entrusted with the revision and improvement of the Peruvian Civil Code, by appointment of Ministerial Resolution Nº 0300-201- JUS. He was a member of the Reform Commission of the General Arbitration Law of Perú, created by R.M. Nº 216-2006-JUS (2006); and has integrated previous commissions in charge of the study and revision of the Peruvian Civil Code. He acted as Amicus Curiae at the Octavo Pleno Casatorio Civil of the Supreme Court of Justice and is currently Dean of the Graduate School of Civil Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

He is an honorary teacher at Universidad de Huánuco and Universidad Privada de Tacna and Professor Honoris Causa at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa.

He is an International Consultant and Expert on Peruvian Law, issuing international legal reports and intervening as an expert on trials and international arbitrations.

Gastón has published numerous articles on various magazines specialized on Peruvian and foreign law. Co-editor of the book “Patrimonial Civil Law” (Collection of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Lima. Peru. 1997) and author of the books “The Penal Clause: Guardianship against non-compliance vs compensation” (ARA Editors. Lima. Perú. 2007) and “Introduction to Civil Liability (University Lessons)” (Collection of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Lima. Peru. 2019).
